ABOVE THE CLOUDS

These two 18-hole Wind Valley courses are situated on steep mountains that rush down to the sea. The design challenges were plentiful with over 1,000,000 cubic meters of earth and rock moved and balanced to create the generous fairways.

The design, while very fair when played from the appropriate teeing grounds, pays homage to the terrain, with high tees playing downhill to wide fairways then back up hill to greens cut into ridges, or continuing further downhill to approaches with commanding views of large undulating greens with magnificently bold bunkering.

Many of the holes have magnificent vistas of ocean, mountain and clouds as backdrops, reminiscent of Chinese ink-brush scrolls. Situated only an hour from the border with Hong Kong, Wind Valley’s reputation is spreading fast.
