18 Holes/Par 71
Opened 2025 (Original 1932)
The remodelling of the Island Course at Singapore Island Country Club was the last design of well-known and respected golf architect, Neil Haworth. Neil tragically passed away in June 2024 just as the project started construction and so his design partner, Brett Mogg, worked with Chris Gray of the R&A to implement Neil’s vision, along with famed Singaporean golf course builder Toh Eng Hock.
The Island Course was a classic old golf course originally designed by Peter Robinson in 1932.
The golf course featured large, beautiful trees, rolling hills, uneven lies, small greens and wildly sloping fairways. It was a classic old tropical course and loved by members, even though it could be difficult to walk and play.
The renovation addressed the playability issues as well as improving course conditioning while preserving the classic feel of the original course. Some significant routing changes were made to the course to better utilise the bold topography but for the most part, the routing was preserved to retain as many of the existing trees as possible. Sand capping, new grass and improved irrigation was all part of the upgrade. The renovated course opened for play in early 2025.
