The Dragon is the focus of a 480 acre residential and resort development in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. It features 6 different tees for each hole due to the 5000-foot elevation and owners Dariel and Peggy Garner's request that the course be enjoyable for all levels of play. As a testament to that, The Dragon was selected as one of the "Top Four Courses for Women in the USA" by Women's Golf Magazine as well as sloping at 147 from the "6 Dragon Tees", tying it with Spyglass Hill as the toughest in Northern California.

Also complementing the Dragon is the Frank Lloyd Wright - designed clubhouse "Nakoma",
that has already taken its place as a destination that must be seen to be believed.
